This masthead can reveal a fourth person – a Gold Coast teenager – has been charged in relation to an alleged car chase and hammer attack at Dreamworld earlier this year that police say left three people hospitalised.

In a statement, Queensland Police confirmed an 18-year-old Runaway Bay man had been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and stealing in relation to the January 13 incident.

He will next appear before the Southport Magistrates Court on April 22.

The teen is the fourth person to be charged with offences related to the alleged midafternoon attack.

Ormeau man Brendan Damien Jarrett, 24, is facing charges of assault occasioning bodily harm, public nuisance, and dangerous operation of a vehicle, while a pair of 18-year-old men, one from Upper Coomera, the other Yamanto, are both facing one charge each of assault occasioning bodily harm.

None of the four men have entered pleas to the charges.

This masthead previously reported the melee occurred at about 3.20pm when two vehicles drove into the theme park’s carpark at speed and disgorged their occupants, one of the vehicles doing so after at crashing into a brick retaining wall near the entrance.

A fight allegedly ensued, during which three people were injured, including a 17-year-old who police say was hit in the head with a hammer.
