delicious. 100, 2023: Pot Sticker Dumpling House a labour of love

Bruce Chen and his staff can smash out anywhere from 500 to 600 dumplings a day.

As co-owner of Hobart restaurant Pot Sticker Dumpling House, Mr Chen said that all the staff pride themselves in the consistency of their handmade dumplings.

“We have an afternoon break and usually a group of three or four staff are set aside to make just dumplings,” he said.

“The dumplings are all handmade and we believe that’s why people love ours the most.”

The Asian fusion eatery was voted one of the state’s best stops for dumplings in the delicious 100. Best of the Best competition, with Mr Chen stating the pork pan-fried dumplings were the most popular with customers.

“We work hard when sourcing our ingredients – the pork dumplings are made with Tasmanian pork and most of our ingredients are from within the state.”

The selection of boiled or pan-fried dumplings in various flavours means that a schedule is set up for their preparation each week.

“We schedule our flavours and ensure we always have fresh dumplings for customers,” Mr Chen said.

“The staff are beyond excited to be nominated for this award and are honoured that there work each week for our dumplings has been recognised.”
