Extra $50 experience vouchers on offer through RACT Travel

A TASMANIAN company is offering up extra tourism experience vouchers — but there’s a catch.

The state government’s Make Yourself at Home vouchers were launched on 9am on September 7, however all 21,500 were snapped up within 40 minutes.

Tourism operators across the state have launched special offers for those Tasmanians that were able to snag a voucher.

Now RACT Travel has announced it will give Tassie travellers a $50 attraction voucher if they book a getaway through them.

State sales manager Christine Benbow said this meant Tasmanians would be able to visit some of the state’s world-class attractions for free, or with very little out of pocket expense.

“Whether you want a luxury escape or help planning a family-friendly lap of the state, we’re here to help and make sure you get the most out of your time away and the most out of your government travel voucher,” she said.

Ms Benbow said there has never been a better time to holiday at home.

“We have already helped 20 families book their holidays with their free $50 voucher from RACT Travel, and in conjunction with our partner, Tasvacations, we have set aside $200,000 to give up to 4000 families an extra bonus for booking with us.”

Other deals across the state include discounted stays at Glen Derwent, Picnic Island, Sawyers Bay Shacks on Flinders Island.

Pennicott Wilderness Journeys will also be providing $1 million worth of discounted tickets to Tasmanians who missed out on a voucher.
