Police have charged an 18-year-old man with multiple offences after an alleged home invasion earlier this year in which a male occupant was left with stab wounds to his leg.
Emergency services were dispatched to an address at Adori St, Surfers Paradise, at about 11pm on Sunday, January 26 in response to reports a pair had entered a dwelling and attacked an occupant, a man in his forties.
Paramedics assessed the man and took him to Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, this masthead previously reported.
Speaking two days afterwards, Gold Coast Police Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon said the occupant “had his leg slashed” with a knife and also sustained a “knock to his head”.
Superintendent Hanlon said information from the occupant suggested two persons, described as being caucasian, aged in their twenties, and wearing dark clothes, had entered the dwelling via a sliding door.
Now, in a breakthrough for police, it can be revealed an 18-year-old Mermaid Waters man has been charged with four offences.
The teenager is charged with one count each of common assault, enter dwelling with intent, robbery armed/in company and grievous bodily harm.
He is next due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on April 15.
