Austin Lane will become the scene of a epic Spanish feast this month, with guests set to be treated to the culinary expertise of one of the nation’s top chef’s.
This month, Melbourne’s Frank Camorra, will collaborate with Charlie’s of Darwin in a special, one-off event aimed at serving up a carefully curated set of classic Spanish small plates.
Born in Barcelona and raised in Australia, Camorra has been dubbed ‘the Godfather’ of Spanish food.
The co-founder of iconic restaurant MoVida has received widespread adoration for his exploits in the kitchen, with his food empire now operating beyond home shores.
Charlie’s of Darwin owner Rebecca Bullen said foodies had plenty to look forward to.
“It’s really exciting, tickets are going quick and the dishes will be served with fresh, local produce,” she said.
“As we speak, I have a fisherman out to catch us produce.”
For Ms Bullen’s staff, the event is a unique opportunity to see a master at work.
“It’s great for my team,” she said.
“They’ll get to see how he does things and its great for their careers to have that (insight).”
It is understood Camorra is currently in Bangkok on a business trip and will touch down in Darwin in the coming days.
‘MoVida at Charlie’s’ will take place from Wednesday, June 11 to Saturday, June 14.
Tickets are priced at $125 per person, available for tables of four or more.
