Inside a transformed Darwin aircraft hangar on Saturday, a sold-out crowd raised more than $230,000 for CareFlight.
From the high-stakes live auction and popular Lock and Key game, to themed cocktails and an in-room raffle, there was plenty on offer for the more than 450 guests at the James Bond-themed ball.
“The generosity shown by our community at the Hangar Ball is truly inspiring,” said Arani Duggan, CareFlight’s general manager for fundraising and community engagement.
“Every dollar raised will support our mission to deliver rapid-response medical care to patients in urgent need, wherever they are.”
Funds raised from the night will go towards supporting CareFlight’s mission in bringing hospital-level care to patients in remote communities, support vital clinical education and training, and make sure medical teams can respond quickly.
“This event wasn’t just about fundraising — it was about coming together to support something that matters,” Ms Duggan said.
“The people who attended, donated, and volunteered helped make a real difference for Territorians who may one day need urgent medical care.”
CareFlight has operated in the Northern Territory since 2007 and delivers the Top End Medical Retrieval Service on behalf of the NT government.
More than 90 per cent of its patients, it says, are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
