A woman has been taken to hospital following a single-vehicle crash in the Cassowary Coast on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services responded to reports of a car crashed into a creek at Mount Mackay, 147km south of Cairns.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed a woman in her 80s had been assessed by paramedics on scene.

“We had reports of a vehicle rollover, possibly upside down in a creek,” the spokeswoman said.

“The patient had self-extricated and said she experienced some neck, shoulder and chest pain.’

The woman was taken to Tully hospital in a stable condition.
