A passion for fashion, bold colours and eclectic prints is the inspiration for a new pop-up shop by Cairns designer Vivienne Francine.
Located at The Pier precinct from July 12 to August 17, the label will feature 1000 new, original pieces ranging from sizes six to 18.
“It’s an eclectic mix of colour … I’ve got lots of lifestyle, easy pieces to wear, some really cool dresses, shirt dresses, casual kind of pantsuits and bamboo tees,” Ms Francine said.
“I always do the basics and mix it up with colour.”
With the Cairns Super Carnival just over a month away, Ms Francine said her pieces were ready to be styled, whether customers were strutting her designs down the runway or going for a night out on the town.
“With my gear, you can wear it anywhere as long as you style it,” she said.
“I’ve got some really nice plain jersey suits that would look great with a Panama hat, or a great slip dress with bold print and a black hat.”
The champion of sustainable fashion said her best clothing tip was to stay true to personal style and have confidence.
“When you invest in a dress, it’s not just for one occasion, you don’t want anything super fancy that you put in your wardrobe and never wear again,” she said.
“You can wear anything (to the races), a pantsuit, a floaty dress. It’s all about styling it your own way and making it yours.”
Ms Francine said at the heart of her collection were garments that could be worn from the supermarket to the races.
“Basically I love to design for real women … a little classic with a quirky twist, and lots of colour,” she said.
