TODAY’S NEWS
Emergency services including the rescue helicopter rushed to attend a two-vehicle crash on Marks Lane and Tinaroo Falls Dam Rd, Atherton on Friday morning.
A Queensland Ambulance Service representative confirmed three people were transported, one by helicopter to Cairns Hospital and two by road to Atherton Hospital.
“We were advised of the incident at 8:55am,’ he said.
“Three people were involved and one male person was trapped with serious leg injuries.
“Assistance from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services helped extricate the man.
The ages and genders of the other passengers have not been released.
A QFES representative said when firefighters arrived at the scene of the crash, they needed to make the area safe before the ambulance crews could render assistance.
“We worked to stabilise the vehicle where one person was entrapped,” the spokeswoman said.
“They crews left the incident around 10am.”
Police are investigating the crash.
TUESDAY’S NEWS
Emergency services were called to a structure fire in Yarrabah shortly after 12pm on Tuesday.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services representative said the incident occurred on Sawmill Rd and the local firefighters were on scene.
“The fire was at a property on Sawmill Rd and a crew from Yarrabah 41 shed fire attended,” he said.
“The structure was situated close to some houses on either side.
“We were advised there was fuel and vehicles inside.”
The QFES representative said the firefighters were able to knock down the fire and prevent it some spreads into adjacent structures within a short time.
“They had the fire extinguished and left the scene by 12.40pm,” he said,
“Queensland Police and Queensland Ambulance were also there.”
A Queensland Police representative confirmed that officers attended the incident.
“We were on scene by 12.16pm,” she said,
“We understand that inside was a fuel tank and some motorcycles.
“But officers have deemed the incident not suspicious.”
She said Ergon Energy were also in attendance at the incident.
“Ergon were also made adware because of nearby power lines,” she said,
Meanwhile, a Queensland Ambulance representative said they were called to the incident at 12.20pm.
“The good news is there were no injuries,” she said.
“We were not required to transport anyone, there were no patients”

Edmonton/Gordonvale
Roadworks are being carried out on the Bruce Highway — Cairns Southern Access Corridor — Stage 3: Edmonton to Gordonvale. Delays expected (during active hours of work), with all lanes in both directions affected. The work is expected to run until June 30, 2023.
Feluga
Major intersection upgrade at East Feluga Road and Bruce Hwy. Delays are expected to August 12, 2022.
Lake Eacham
Wrights Creek Road is closed to all traffic. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
Ravenshoe
Roadworks have been reported at Grigg St, Ravenshoe and are expected to December 12, 2022.
Wrights Creek
Hill Road Closed permanently from the Bruce Highway to Harris Road to December 2024.
