Emergency services are at a crash on the corner of Park and Sydney streets in Bayview Heights.
A Queensland Police representative confirmed the incident involved a cyclist and a motor vehicle.
“The incident was reported initially as pedestrian injured but it involved a bicycle,” the representative said.
“A teen male is conscious and breathing and being stabilised by Queensland Ambulance,
It is understood that the drive stopped at the scene.”
According to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, firefighters were alerted to the incident at 7.06pm and were on scene by 7;19pm.
“We were asked to attend by police,” the QAS representative said.
“Firefighters were at scene at 7.19pm.”

Crews stumble upon car crash
Emergency crews came across a car crash when they were returning from being called out to a possible structure fire on Monday morning.
According to a Queensland Ambulance spokesman, the paramedics in an ambulance accompanied by a fire crew saw the crashed vehicle near the corner of the Kennedy Hwy and Hastie Rd shortly before 10.30am.
It is understood that the first responders were previously called to attend an incident at Malanda around 10.04am.
“There were three occupants of the vehicle,” a Queensland Ambulance spokesman said.
“There are three patients being assessed and so far there appear to be no obvious major injuries.”
TUESDAY’S NEWS
Man stabbed on Lake St
Police are investigating a disturbance at a licensed venue in Cairns North between two groups of people known to each other which resulted in a 55-year-old from Aurukun being stabbed in the chest.
Officers were called shortly before 1am on September 20 to the Lake St venue following reports a man had been stabbed in the chest.
Police said the 55-year-old from Aurukun was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
At the hospital, police also located a 36-year-old Gordonvale woman with a stab wound to her hand.
An 18-year-old Aurukun man who was with the woman at the hospital was taken into custody and is assisting police with their inquiries.
Investigations are continuing into the disturbance and how the man and woman sustained their injuries.
On Tuesday morning a Queensland Ambulance representative confirmed paramedics attended the incident.
“A man in his 50s with a wound to his chest was transported to Cairns Hospital in serious but stable condition,” he said.
Handbag robbery charge, Woree
Cairns Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have charged a 15-year-old Woree boy with attempted robbery and drug possession charges following investigations into the alleged theft of a handbag.
Police said they allege a 42-year-old Westcourt woman was walking along Mulgrave Rd, Woree on September 18 at about 1.30pm when she was approached from behind by two teenage boys who attempted to steal her handbag.
Police said the woman managed to retain her bag and the boys fled on foot.
The woman reported the incident to police and they commenced patrols before she continued walking home along Mulgrave Rd.
It will be further alleged that not long after this, the woman felt someone again pulling at her handbag and turned to see a boy pulling at her bag.
After a struggle, the boy fled on foot with the handbag, members of the public stopped to help the woman and police were updated.
Police from the Far North District Tactical Crime Squad chased the boy and he was taken into
custody, arrested and conveyed to Cairns Watchhouse where it’s alleged police found a quantity of cannabis on him.
Bail was opposed and he appeared in the Cairns Children’s Court.
The handbag was located and returned to the owner; however a quantity of cash was not
recovered.
Glass bottle assault charges, Cairns City
On Monday night detectives charged an 18-year-old Manoora man after officers were called to a disturbance on Lake St around 10pm.
Police will allege a 32-year-old man was struck in the head with a glass bottle during the disturbance and he was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening lacerations to his head.
The 18-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 6.
Burglary and vehicle theft charges
On Monday Cairns Property Crime Squad officers charged a 17-year-old Manoora boy following investigations into a number of recent alleged offences involving burglary and vehicle theft in the suburbs of Whitfield, Manoora, Earlville and Redlynch.
Police will alleged the offences were committed between September 10 and September 19.
The boy was charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of attempting to enter a premises.
His bail was refused and he is scheduled to appear before the Cairns Children’s Court.

MONDAY
Fire crews were called to the scene on Kamerunga Road at Stratford about 6.45am.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said firefighters were on scene for a couple of hours to ensure everyone was OK.
Suburbs affected by the power outage include Barron, Brinsmead, Freshwater, Kamerunga and Stratford.
More than 1400 customers were affected. Power was restored in all locations just before 1pm.
Ergon Energy were on scene.

The Peninsula Developmental Road is subject to a 5 Tonne GVM limit from Laura to Coen due to water over the road.
Edmonton/Gordonvale
Roadworks are being carried out on the Bruce Highway — Cairns Southern Access Corridor — Stage 3: Edmonton to Gordonvale. Delays expected (during active hours of work), with all lanes in both directions affected. The work is expected to run until June 30, 2023.
Feluga
Major intersection upgrade at East Feluga Road and Bruce Hwy. Delays are expected to August 12, 2022.
Lake Eacham
Wrights Creek Road is closed to all traffic. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
Ravenshoe
Roadworks have been reported at Grigg St, Ravenshoe and are expected to December 12, 2022.
Wrights Creek
Hill Road Closed permanently from the Bruce Highway to Harris Road to December 2024.
