Far North Queensland dog owners inundated this masthead with hundreds of photos of their adorable puppies but there can only be one winner.

Receiving the most votes was a 20 month old Tia the Chihuahua — an upcoming rally obedience, tricks and ability champion from Bayview Heights.

Tia’s owner Gabii Noack said she always knew Tia was a cute dog, but was surprised to hear the rest of the region thought so too.

“Obviously I’m a biased but I’m glad to know everyone else thinks so too. Her little eyebrows sunk my heart when I saw a photo of her at just 12 weeks old,” Mrs Noack said.

Mrs Noack, who competes in dog sports with her with her two chihuahuas in agility and obedience, said 1.6kg Tia held her own as a “tricks champion”.

“We compete in agility and obedience. She’ll be competing in the dog sports category of the Cairns Show,” she said.

“Her favourite trick is being sent to her mat. She’s got this tiny little bed that she sits in and stares you with a face like ‘I did good?’ it’s the cutest thing.”

Mrs Noack said despite the chihuahua’s reputation as aggressive, Tia was well behaved.
“She has a three and half year old sister and is defintely the better behaved of the two, although her nuaghtiest trait is that she steal socks,” she said.
“She’s absolutely full of personality and so confident. Her best friend is a 23kg Border Collie named Impulse.”

Runner-ups included Frankie, Honey, dynamic duo Alfie and Daisy and Scoop.
