Three people have been taken to hospital after a ute crashed and landed on its roof in the regional town of Dimbulah.

Several emergency services were called to the scene on Burke Developmental Road, corner of Hanley Road just before 8am on Tuesday, December 31.

Three occupants who had been travelling in the ute before it crashed were assessed on scene and taken to Mareeba Hospital.

“A ute rolled over just before 8am, all three occupants were out of the vehicle when we arrived,” a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.

“We have taken all patients to hospital in a stable condition.”

This comes as authorities urge motorists to exercise greater caution, with the number of road fatalities in Far North Queensland this December approaching the highest levels in the past decade.
