Experience a free, out-of-this-world night of music as the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack hits the stage at the Reef Hotel Casino this weekend.
Fans of the blockbuster Marvel film will have the opportunity to experience Awesome Mix volumes one, two and three featuring the song’s of main character Peter Quill’s mixtape live.
Brisbane-based band Soft Treadly will return to BAR36 with an assortment of the film series’ soundtrack, which reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming the first soundtrack album in history consisting entirely of previously released songs to top the chart.
Soft Treadly vocalist Joe White said audiences could expect timeless rock, Mowtown hits and party anthems in an eclectic blend and “awesome mix”.
“This music really resonates with everyone and even more now with the success of the movie and soundtrack,” Mr White said.
“We are not a cabaret show, we don’t try to portray the movie characters, we’re a band who loves this crafted selection of songs.”
The show will encompass a range of hits from I Want You Back by the Jackson 5 to Fox on the Run by Sweet, Mr Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra and many more.
Reef Hotel Casino entertainment manager Bruce Stewart said the show fit with the casino’s intergalactic theme.
“It’s all very intergalactic at the casino at the moment, so this idea, GOTG, is the perfect fit for us,” Mr Stewart said.
“Everyone is welcome to dress up as your favourite epic space character – hero or villain of course – and join the fun of our little outer space adventure.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack Live will be performed live and free at the Reef Hotel Casino on February 28 and March 1 from 9pm.
