Shoshin Movement rebrands to the Handstand Hub

A bizarre upside-down exercise trend is taking over as a Cairns gym swaps out dumbbells for handstands.

The Handstand Hub

A CAIRNS gym has rebranded to focus mainly on the exercise of handstands allowing people to gain strength, flexibility and conquer a new challenge.

Shoshin Movement on Grafton Street has renamed itself the Handstand Hub to offer more beginner, intermediate and advance handstand classes as well as flexibility and strength classes.

David D’Amore has created the unique classes with his fiancee Hannah Singleton.

“It’s quite unique, it’s quite holistic, compared to what a big gym offers and we try to tailor our classes because everyone has different strengths and challenges,” Mr D’Amore said.

“The handstand is a very unique way to train and you are building upper body strength, your core, flexibility but without the boredom of adding more weight.”

Mr D’Amore said the classes were also very beginner friendly.

“Our approach is progressive, we can help anyone safely learn how to handstand from ground up,” he said.
