Police charge five teens for alleged armed robbery at Manunda service station
A hunt for a group of people who allegedly robbed a Cairns store armed with tools has concluded with police charging five teenagers, three of whom were already on bail for similar allegations and allegedly posted their exploits on Instagram.

A hunt for a group of people who allegedly robbed a Cairns store armed with tools has concluded with police charging five teenagers.
About 6.45am on Saturday, the group allegedly forced entry to a service station at Koch St, Manunda, near the Raintrees Shopping Centre.
The group then allegedly approached the front counter and the employee, a 22-year-old woman, fled on foot with her personal belongings.
It is alleged the employee was confronted by the group outside, was assaulted and the group demanded the keys to her personal vehicle.
She complied and the group allegedly stole her silver Hyundai SUV and fled the scene in the vehicle.
The vehicle was later located abandoned at Murray St, Manunda and seized for examination.
Later on Saturday, police arrested and charged five teenagers in relation to the incident.
A 13-year-old Manunda boy was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, armed robbery, stealing, common assault and enter premises with intent to commit.
He appeared in Cairns Childrens Court on Monday where his bail was denied.
The boy was already on bail for a “large number” of offences including robbery and grievous bodily harm.
His bail was revoked.
A 14-year-old Bungalow boy was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle publish on social media, armed robbery, stealing, common assault, receiving tainted property and enter premises with intent to commit.
The boy appeared in Cairns Childrens court on Monday where he was granted bail.
The court heard that the boy had a limited criminal history with defence counsel Simon Bright advising that his client claimed he was at a relative’s home at the time of offending.
A 14-year-old Edmonton boy was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, face masked, blackened, or disguised with intent to commit, armed robbery, stealing, common assault, receiving tainted property and enter premises with intent to commit.
He also appeared on Monday where he was refused bail.
A previous bail on a “raft of similar offences” was also revoked.
A 13-year-old Manunda boy was charged with one count each of armed robbery, stealing, common assault and enter premises with intent to commit.
He is due to appear in the Cairns Childrens Court on January 8.
A 15-year-old Manoora boy was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, armed robbery, stealing, common assault and enter premises with intent to commit.
He is due to appear in the Cairns Childrens Court at a later date.
