No injuries sustained in nine cars crash in south Cairns pileup

Emergency services have been called to a nine vehicle pileup on the Bruce Highway on the south side of Cairns.
At 2.45pm police and paramedics were called to the domino-style crash 400m north of the Mill Road turn-off off at Edmonton.
A single southbound lane of the highway has been closed to all traffic as Queensland Ambulance Service assesses passengers and vehicles are towed from the scene.
An ambulance spokeswoman said nine adults and one child were involved in the crashes but no injuries had been reported.

“We will be clearing from that scene soon,” she said.
“No people have required transportation and have declined assessment.
“Sounds like it’s a bit messy but thankfully no patients were involved.”
Queensland Traffic advised motorists that the Bruce Highway was under single lane operation following the multi-vehicle crash.
Delays are expected and drivers should proceed with caution.
