Multi-vehicle crashes in Far North cause havoc to commuters

Emergency services have been kept busy with two multi-vehicle crashes in the region as they urge drivers to slow down and take extra care in the wet conditions.

As rain thundered down in Cairns, a two vehicle crash on a busy thoroughfare is causing chaos for commuters,

At 4.45pm emergency crew were called to a crash at the intersection of Mulgrave Rd and Florence St.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said a crew were at the incident.

“Paramedics are assessing one adult female who is complaining of chest pain,” he said.

“She has been reported as in a stable condition and it is likely she will be transported to Cairn Hospital.”

Meanwhile, the crash has caused havoc for commuters already coping with slick roads as two outbound lanes were reported as blocked.

Drivers are advised to proceed with caution.

Meanwhile, at 4.42pm emergency crews were called to attend a two vehicle crash on Tully Mission Beach Rd at Tam O’Shanter near Wongaling Beach 113km south of Cairns.

An Ambulances spokesman confirmed paramedics were at the incident.

“Both cars are now off the road,” he said.

“Paramedics are assessing a patient.”
