Matildas superstar Mary Fowler has returned to her hometown with Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary.

The sporting power couple were spotted at Cairns Irish bar McGinty’s on New Year’s Eve, along with Just Devine Gelato Bar in Aplin Street on Wednesday evening.

The pair shared a holiday at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast prior to Christmas, before appearing at the Big Mango in Bowen on Monday as they road-tripped up to Far North Queensland.

Mary Fowler and Nathan Cleary stopped at the Big Mango on December 30 during their road trip to Cairns.

Enjoying their rare time together, the Manchester City forward is currently away from the club during the Christmas break, with fixtures set to resume on January 13, while Cleary is currently recovering from recent off-season shoulder surgery.

The 21-year-old – along with teammate Cortnee Vine – pulled out of Australia’s friendlies against Brazil and Chinese Taipei in early December to focus on her mental and physical health.
