Mareeba man Kane Hoppner located by police, deceased
Police have made a tragic finding in the search for a missing Mareeba man, who was last seen on Wednesday, August 17.

UPDATE: QUEENSLAND Police on Monday reported locating missing Mareeba man Kane Hoppner’s deceased body, after the 37-year-old’s disappearance was reported on Thursday.
“A 37-year-old man reported missing from Mareeba since August 18 has today (Monday) been located deceased. A report will be prepared for the coroner,” the police statement read.
It is understood he was last seen about 9.30pm on Wednesday August 17 on Walsh Street.
EARLIER: A 37-YEAR-OLD missing man from Mareeba has Queensland Police and family concerned, labelling the disappearance “out of character”.
Kane Hoppner was reported missing on Thursday afternoon from Mareeba and last seen around 9.30pm on Wednesday August 17 on Walsh Street.
He last had contact with family around 10.15pm that same night.
Mr Hoppner is described as caucasian in appearance, 170cm tall with a slim build, blonde hair and blue eyes.
He was also last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, check shorts and belt, black jogger shoes, trucker’s cap with the letters NY on the front.
Police and family are concerned for his safety as he has medical and mental health conditions, and the disappearance is out of character.
Police are appealing for Kane, the public or anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact police.
