Emergency services crews have extinguished a machine fire in a factory in Tully after a piece of machinery reportedly caught fire on Thursday morning.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman confirmed three crews attended the scene of a factory fire at Hort Street in Tully at 5.45am.

“There was some machinery, like a shredder, was on fire inside a factory,” the spokeswoman said.
“It doesn’t look like it was fully engulfed when we got there, just smouldering.”
