From pilates and cafes to tools and beauty, these 22 businesses are Far North’s newest shops on the block.

The Far North is bouncing back as Stirling Tavener, business advisor at Anson Advisory, said now is the perfect time for businesses to open shop.

“The economy is booming,” he said.

With his experience, Mr Tavener said financial projection was incredibly important for new businesses.

“Is it going to make money and be profitable?” he said.

Mr Tavener’s top three tips for new businesses and its owners are:

1. Speak to someone outside their circle about starting and running a business

2. Make sure they’re delivering something new, better and faster than the competitors

3. Ensure the business is financially feasible and going to make money

For one of 2022’s new businesses, Mucho Love Cafe, Argentinian owner Micaela Lukac said they’ve been up and down since opening mid January.

“We actually have a few regulars which is awesome, we’re just trying to get our name out there,” she said.

Leaving behind work at a butterfly sanctuary, Ms Lukac pursued her passion of sharing her culture with the Far North.

“Opening a business has been amazing, there’s so many people I’ve met and built a relationship with,” she said.

“I guess I’m someone that likes to try different things, I like the challenge, I like meeting people.

“We’ve only just started our journey.”
