Kohan Hanby, Jessica Addo, Emily Nancarrow among FNQ’s individual awardees at Qld Training Awards

Eleven award winners from FNQ were lauded at the regional round of the 62nd Queensland Training Awards ceremony on Friday.

Apprentice Baker of the Year

Seven individual and four organisational award winners from Far North Queensland were announced on Friday at the regional round of the 62nd Queensland Training Awards held at the Cairns Convention Centre in recognition of success and innovation in vocational education and training.

Cairns MP Michael Healy congratulated the “high achievers” of the region for their work.

“Emily (Nancarrow) is a shining example,” he said.

“She excelled and received three Student of the Month awards during her studies with the Australian College of Commerce and Management and now trains new staff while building her own industry expertise.”

He wished all the winners good luck for the upcoming state finals in September.

Training and Skills Development Minister Di Farmer congratulated employers, praising Tableland Veterinary Service’s efforts.

“They operate six clinics and remote outreach services and invest heavily in training and skills development.”

Regional winners will progress to the state final in September with the opportunity to compete for national titles at the 2023 Australian Training Awards in November, to be held in Hobart.
