Family of alleged murder victim launch heartfelt funeral appeal

A heartbreaking appeal to return the victim of an alleged murder back to Brisbane has been launched following his horrific death at Caravonica two weeks ago.

Family of a man allegedly stabbed to death in a Caravonica house have launched a bid to return their loved one’s remains to Brisbane following his death earlier this month.

In a heartbreaking turn the remains of Rodney Anderson Frampton have lingered in Cairns following the completion of police forensic work for the Northern Coroner.

On October 7 police established a crime scene at Melinga Cl in response to the stabbing of 34-year-old Mr Frampton.

Emergency crews attempted to save Mr Frampton however he died at the scene from his injuries.

Nathan Andrew Shane Morris, 19, was arrested and charged with murder of Mr Frampton.

His matter was heard in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 10 where prosecutor Sergeant Stewart Clyde-Smith told Judge Terence Brown a brief of evidence would be available within six weeks.

Mr Morris did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on November 23.

Desley Anderson said family members had decided to set up an online fundraiser to assist with the cost of transporting Mr Frampton’s remains to Brisbane for burial.

“The funeral arrangements are currently underway, and our first big step to move forward is to have Rodney home,” Ms Anderson stated on the GoFundMe site.

“We appreciate and thank you all for the love and all the support in this time of need.”

On Tuesday $2435 of a $5000 goal had been reached, according to the fundraising website.

Friends and family members have sent messages of condolence and support for the family of Mr Frampton.
