Cairns police are investigating the circumstances that led to the sudden deaths of an elderly couple in Cairns city on Wednesday.
At the request of family, police attended the couple’s home around 10am on January 4 to conduct a welfare check.
A man and woman, both aged in their early 90s were located dead.
Investigations are underway to establish their cause of death.
Police have stated no further information is available at this time.
The grim discovery on Wednesday follows the discovery of Ben O’Connor’s body at a Murray St park on January 1.
