An iconic bakery chain has opened its first Far North Queensland franchise to resounding success.
Cinnabon Bakery has opened a new store in Cairns Central Shopping Centre this week, heralding their long awaited arrival in the Far North.
“Cairns was on our list since before Covid,” Cairns store manager Suri Buenatura said.
“Finally, after Covid settled and everything fell into place, we decided to start our Far North Queensland operations from Cairns and we will be expanding along the east coast all the way down to the Sunshine Coast.”
Their Cairns bakery currently offers a selection of flavoured cinnamon scrolls and a limited drinks menu, but will broaden their offerings with time.
“We have an extensive range of cold drinks but, for the opening, to ensure everyone has a good experience, we’ve narrowed down the range,” Mr Buenatura said.
“Every fortnight we will be bringing out a new flavour and, depending on the response from locals, we will keep it or move on to the next one,” he said.
The franchise has plans to open more stores within the region with kiosks at Smithfield Shopping Centre and Cairns Airport planned within the next four months.
“We have received an enormous amount of love from Cairns, it was eye-watering just how successful the opening was for us,” Mr Buenatura said.
“We love this place already.”
