A man has been killed in a crash involving a truck and a car at Moregatta, 92km southwest of Cairns, on Friday evening.
Initial investigations suggest that a vehicle was travelling on Millaa Millaa Malanda Rd about 5pm when it came in contact with a truck travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the car, a 51-year-old man, died at the scene.
The driver of the truck was taken to Atherton Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The truck jackknifed following the collision, resulting in the road being closed for hours but it has since reopened.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and urge anyone who witnessed the crash or with dashcam footage from that area and time to come forward.
Queensland Fire and Emergency services were also called to a single vehicle crash on Gillies Range Road about 4.30pm.
In that crash a vehicle went over the edge of the road but the sole occupant was able to escape before it went over.
The occupant left the scene before emergency crews arrived, however they have been in contact with police. No injuries were recorded.
