Cairns Super Carnival and Cairns Central announce fashion partnership ahead of race day spectacular

The Far North’s newly merged racing spectacular, Cairns Super Carnival, has revealed its Fashions on the Field judges, alongside a new partnership with a major Cairns retailer.

From celebrity stylists to models and fashion icons, the newly merged Cairns Super Carnival has released a stellar line up of fashion judges, alongside a new partnership with a major retail sponsor.

The Great Northern Brewing Co Cairns Super Carnival, which will run from August 15 to 23, will feature three race days, two Fashions on the Field events and tropical high tea party.

The Cairns Jockey Club announced a three-year partnership with Cairns Central as the official supporter of Fashions on the Field.

Cairns Jockey Club General Manager Cameron Riches expressed his enthusiasm for the long-term partnership.

“We’re incredibly proud to align with such an influential force in the fashion and retail scene.”

As part of the new agreement, Cairns Central and the Cairns Jockey Club announced a stellar judging line up for Fashions on the Field events.

Known for his bold styling, charismatic stage presence, and work with some of Australia’s most recognised names and brands, celebrity stylist and Sunrise fashion commentator Elliot Garnaut, will lead the expert judging panel.

“I’m genuinely so excited to visit Tropical North Queensland, it’s such a special part of the country,” Mr Garnaut said.

“And of course, I’m looking forward to a visit to Cairns Central. The best of FNQ retail all in one place. Retail therapy never killed anyone!”

Renowned for her impeccable eye for detail and backed by decades of experience, Kathy Garnaut, mother of Elliot Garnaut, will also be on this year’s judging panel.

They will be joined by Rebecca Harding, a celebrated Australian model, who has graced campaigns for luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Piaget, Hugo Boss, and Alex Perry.

Cairns Central’s senior centre manager Lou Martin said he was excited to sponsor the Fashions on the Field event.

“It’s a great opportunity to celebrate local style and creativity in a really special way. We’re thrilled to welcome Elliot and Kathy Garnaut along with Rebecca Harding as our celebrity judges, their expertise ensures exceptional fashion will be recognised,” Mr Martin said.

“Cairns Central has proudly supported the Cairns Cup and Cairns Amateurs Racing Carnivale for over 15 years and continues to be the premier destination for racewear in Far North Queensland.”
