A Cairns woman was taken to hospital fighting for her life after she was allegedly stabbed, with her attacker set to face court.
A 46-year-old Cairns North woman has been charged with one count of wounding, following a an alleged late night stabbing incident at Sheridan St on Wednesday.
The woman is set to face Cairns Magistrates Court on Thursday and police will allege about 10pm on July 23, she approached a 47-year-old woman and stabbed her in the chest with a pair of scissors before fleeing the area.
The alleged victim was taken to Cairns Hospital by Queensland Ambulance Service in a life-threatening condition.
A Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service spokesman said the woman was in a stable condition on Thursday.
Police located and arrested the 46-year-old woman on Sheridan St, just after 11pm and were investigating if the women knew each other.
The alleged offender was refused bail.
