WITH the end of Cairns Festival quickly approaching on Sunday, here are the lights, shows and festivities that Far Northerners are still able to catch before the finale.
As the weather cleared up and showers have eased, Bec Mac, who is performing Love TV on the courthouse lawns, said she was relieved to go ahead with her live art event starting Thursday all the way until Sunday.
“I invite people into my clam to share their love stories and what they’re passionate about whether that’s their hobbies or work that they do,” she said.
Ms Mac said she was excited to hear the stories from Cairns and see the “passion, love and how fabulous this place is”.
“Save (the stories) for the clam,” she said.
Major headline events happening around the city include the social experiment Truthmachine that will test audiences at Cairns Courthouse from Thursday to Sunday and the Skywhales gigantic hot air balloons will take flight over Cairns Showgrounds on Saturday.
Courthouse festival hub will be on every day with an array of performers like Ally Row and Jokers Pokers and Jazz under the starts on Saturday at Flecker Botanic Gardens.
These events amp up the region before the festival finale on Sunday that kicks off at 9am with the Carnival on Collins at the Tanks Arts Centre and Botanic Gardens.
