A woman was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Monday morning after her car crashed into a pole at Caravonica.

The woman, 55, was travelling at the intersection of Kamerunga Rd and Fig Tree Dr at 1.30am when the car she was driving veered off the road, a police spokeswoman said.

“For reasons unknown the vehicle has veered right, come off the road and hit a pole,” the spokeswoman said.

“A single female was injured.”

Paramedics transported the woman to hospital in a stable condition. A QAS spokeswoman said the woman reportedly had an arm injury.

She remained in a stable condition at Cairns Hospital as of 9am.

The crash at Kamerunga follows a two-vehicle crash on the Redlynch Bypass Road on Thursday night, in which three people were injured.
