CAIRNS businessman Chris Bowtell has appeared in the Cairns Magistrates Court, facing two charges of wilful damage.
The successful businessman was represented by lawyer Mark Butler.
Mr Bowtell posted a poll on his Instagram on Monday morning asking his followers to guess from three options as to whether he was going to a wedding, to a business meeting, or to court.
The two charges relate to an alleged disturbance that occurred between Mr Bowtell and the driver of a vehicle in Herschel Street in Brisbane on July 25, 2021.
Police will allege Mr Bowtell removed a phone from the victim and crushed it before striking the damaged phone against the vehicle.
Mr Butler sought a three week adjournment for the matters.
It will next be mentioned on August 3 and Mr Bowtell was allowed bail on his own undertaking.
