A man has been charged with robbery with violence and stealing, after allegedly assaulting a 57-year-old store attendant.

A man has been charged with robbery with violence and stealing after allegedly assaulting a 57-year-old store attendant.
Police allege a 29-year-old man was stealing items from a business on Sheridan Street, Cairns North, at 5.15pm on May 23, when a 57-year-old employee confronted the man.
It is further alleged the man punched the female attendant several times and knocked her to the ground.
Police were called and located the man a short time later.
He was allegedly in possession of the stolen items at the time of his arrest.
The woman was taken to hospital for medical treatment after she sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was remanded in custody for mention on July 15.
