Ms Noller said this year’s optional theme was “future memories.”

“The theme attracted many of the entrants, and was won by Cairns artist Jacky Elms with her ‘Outback Shack on the road to Ravenswood’.”

The winner of the highly popular People’s Choice vote will be announced on the Cairns Art Society website on Monday evening.

Art lovers still have time to see the exhibition between 10am-2pm before it closes on Sunday.

Cairns Art Society exhibition co-ordinator Joanne Bingham is also is running a class on Sunday called “Feel the Fur” on how to draw animal fur, from 10.30am–1.30pm.

“It’s an amazing opportunity to meet like-minded artists in one of the most major galleries we put on,” she said.

“It’s so brilliant to have already seen so many artworks sold.”
