Pair charged after alleged armed robbery at Bridgewater United service station

A YOUNG MAN and teenager have been charged after a wooden bat was allegedly used to smash a glass counter and threaten a service station staff member at Bridgewater.
The 20-year-old man, of Glenorchy, allegedly entered the United service station on Green Point Road with his face covered and demanded cash about 9pm on Sunday.
He allegedly fled on foot with a sum of money via the East Derwent Highway, heading north, wearing a dark blue jumper and khaki coloured pants.
He was arrested just before 10am on Monday.
A 14-year-old youth, of Bridgewater, was also arrested a short time later. Their connection to the crime is not yet known.
The man is expected to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
The teenager was bailed and will appear in court at a later date.
The staff member was not physically injured during the incident.
