A woman has been slashed with a machete while cleaning her car at a car wash.
The incident unfolded at the Ezy Bay car wash on Bay Rd in Cheltenham at 11.10am on Saturday.
The alleged offenders, believed to be a man and woman, drove through the wrong entry of the car wash.
It is alleged they jumped out of the Subaru and attacked the woman, slicing her hand.
“She was quite distressed, you could see she was going into shock when she started shivering,” witness Jarod told Nine.
“She had a slash on her wrist which was bleeding quite heavily.
“She also looked like she’d lost the tip of her finger and her fingernail, so she was in a lot of pain.”
It is understood the alleged offenders fled the scene with the woman’s handbag and phone.
It comes after the same armed pair reportedly slashed a 73-year-old man three times in Keysborough on Friday night.
It comes as a 24-year-old Footscray man suffered life-threatening machete stab wounds during a separate assault in Footscray on Friday night.
The young man was allegedly attacked by a group in Albert Street just before 9.30pm, and was later taken to hospital in a serious condition.
