She has travellers insurance through RAC, but local police determined she had been drinking at the time of the fall, and so any claim for her injuries has been denied.

Her family back in Perth is trying to raise half-a-million dollars to cover her medical costs and the costof bringing her back to Australia.

Ms Cutler, a Detective Constable, remains in intensive care in a critical condition in Croatia.

WA Police on Friday posted a 40 second video with pictures and video of Ms Cutler, including new images of her in her hospital bed.

“First class constable Ella Cutler is in our thoughts and our hearts,” reads text over the video.

“Ella’s family, friends and colleagues are now trying to bring her home.

“Ella is devoted to the community she serves. WA Police would like to thank the community for your support at this difficult time.”

It finishes with a still image of Ms Cutler, and the hashtag “#BRINGELLAHOME”.

The post, shared on Twitter and Facebook, also has a link to the online fundraiser started by her brother Joshua on Monday.

“We can only imagine how scared she would be if she knew the full extent of her injuries, and we cannot even begin to convey how frightened we are for her, and how important it is for her to come home,” Joshua writes in the GoFundMe campaign’s description.

At the time of writing, it’s raised just over $400k of it’s $500k goal.

WA Police Inspector Geoff DeSanges said Ella is a part of their “big blue family.”

“I understand that her family are experiencing some difficulty in returning her home financially, so I know a lot of people in WA police have got behind that effort which is not surprising to me because we’re a very tight-knit blue family,” he says.

“I’ve not met Ella personally, but everyone says she’s an outstanding police officer and completely dedicated to serving the community that she works in. And I think it’s really moving that both police and members of the community have got behind this effort to bring her home.”

WA Premier Roger Cook also acknowledged the family’s ordeal during parliament on Wednesday, acknowledging the “great police officer.”
