Premier Chris Minns has provided an update about the asbestos scare at the Sydney venue for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert.

A total of 41 sites across NSW have been confirmed on Monday to contain traces of bonded asbestos following testing by the Environmental Protection Agency.

All eyes were on one particular site on Friday last week, after it was revealed EPA officers were testing the Olympic Park precinct where Swift’s Sydney concerts are due to kick off later this week.

“I think it’s important to note that there’s been no positive testing in the Olympic Park precinct and it’s been pretty comprehensive,” Minns said on ABC Radio Sydney on Monday.

“I understand that maybe crews are going in again just to retest some parts of the precinct but it shouldn’t pose a threat to the impending concerts in particular Taylor Swift in the next few days.”

An EPA spokesperson said precautionary testing on median strips at Sydney Olympic Park returned negative tests for bonded and friable asbestos and there will be no impacts to scheduled events.

She will perform for four nights in Sydney from February 23-26.

Domremy College in Five Dock, Aldi Supermarket in Cobbitty, Riverstone Sports Centre and Carlingford-to-Parramatta Shared Path have all been added to the list of confirmed asbestos sites.

Three more private property sites have returned positive results but have not been named for privacy reasons.

Students are reminded that Donremy College remains open on Monday, with contaminated areas cordoned off to mitigate risk to students.

A hygienist has been engaged to determine the next steps, in consultation with government advisers.

Over the weekend, fire crews joined EPA officers to inspect about 70 sites of the more than 120 sites identified by the EPA.

As of Sunday night, 683 tests have returned negative results since testing began on January 10.
