New figures reveal the state’s properties have hit a startling milestone, in a close second behind the NSW market.
Average dwelling prices in Queensland have passed $1m, in a huge jump compared to last year’s statistics.
Queensland has now become the second state, following NSW, with an average dwelling price of more than $1m, according to figures released on Tuesday by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
This follows a rise of 3.5 per cent (or $33,900) in the September quarter of 2025.
“The mean price of dwellings in Queensland is now $91,400 higher than September quarter 2024,” Mish Tan, ABS head of finance statistics said in a statement.
The mean price of residential dwellings also rose in every state and territory across the country, according to the ABS.
The largest increases were seen in WA at 4.5 per cent or $40,800, Queensland at 3.5 per cent or $33,900 and the Northern Territory at 5.3 per cent or $28,400.
The overall value of residential dwellings in Australia rose by a huge $317bn, or 2.7 per cent, to $11.9 trillion in the September quarter 2025, according to the ABS.
