Music festival season gets underway with sun-soaked start

Thousands of music fans descended on Sydney Showgrounds on Saturday for Australia’s “largest outdoor music festival”, with a new trend taking over.

Thousands of music fans descended on Sydney Showgrounds for Australia’s “largest outdoor music festival”.

Fans arrived under sunny skies for the 2pm kick-off on Saturday of the Knockout Outdoor music festival.

The festival, hosted by Harder Styles Unit, boasts being the largest of its kind in the country.

More than 40 acts were scheduled to perform across three stages, including Dutch DJ duo Gunz for Hire and N-Vitral.

It comes as NSW’s festival season gets underway, with Listen Out, one of Sydney’s most prominent festivals, taking place Sunday.

Thousands of attendees are expected to arrive at Sydney’s Centennial Park for the festival, featuring acts such as rapper 21 Savage and grime artist Skepta.

Other notable acts set to take to the stage on Sunday include Zambian singer and rapper Sampa The Great and Atlanta hip hop due EarthGang.
