Local police, the police air wing and the Tactical Response Group (TRG) were sent to Hodnet Bend about 9.30am to reports of a man and a woman fighting.

The woman was found at a property, but Mr Unkovich had taken off either on foot or on a bicycle, sparking a manhunt after police reported that he was possibly armed.

Mr Unkovich was located at a property in Kiara, about 20km southeast of The Vines, on Thursday, where he was taken into police custody without incident.

Vision released by WA Police shows a person with their identity concealed being wheeled out of a suburban home strapped to a gurney, before he’s loaded into the back of an ambulance.

Mr Unkovich was taken for medical treatment over the “significant” arm or hand injury he suffered during Wednesday’s incident.

No gun was found at the Kiara property, or during a police search of Mr Unkovich’s mother’s home on Wednesday.

At the time of writing, no charges have been laid.
