A teenage boy has been taken to hospital suffering a gunshot wound to his leg after several bullets were fired into his home Wednesday morning.
Police were called to the home in Nelson St, Kilburn in Adelaide’s north following reports of gunfire in the area at about 2.10am Wednesday.
“On arrival, police located the victim with a single gunshot wound to his leg,” a SA Police spokesperson said.
“Police located a number of gunshot holes at the address.
“The incident is not believed to be a random attack.”
The teenager was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries where he will continue to assist police with their inquiries.
A burnt out vehicle was located within a few blocks of the shooting but police are yet to confirm if the two incidents are related.
A neighbour told reporters that the early morning shooting didn’t come as a surprise at the address.
“It’s quite terrifying, because it’s happening all the time,” he said.
“Police are always coming here, every day or every two days.
“Sometimes a shooting happens, sometimes fighting, sometimes stabbings, these kinds of things are not good to live near.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
