A video has revealed the moment a man allegedly struck a younger man in the head with a metal pole after telling him to “stop the f***ing noise”.

Emergency services were called to Odelia Crescent in Plumpton, in Sydney’s west, after 11.40pm on February 5 following reports of an alleged assault.

When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old man suffering from head injuries after an alleged attack with a 40-year-old man.

The confrontation was captured on video by a friend of the 22-year-old man, who posted it online.

In the footage, the 40-year-old man can be seen brandishing the metal pole as he approaches the man who is filming and tells him to “keep the f***ing noise down”.

When the other man protests that he has been quiet, the 40-year-old man reiterates his demand to “stop the f***ing noise”.

He then approaches the 22-year-old man who had walked out of the house towards him.

Police were told the two men had an argument before the older man allegedly assaulted the younger man with the metal pole.

In the footage, a thud can be heard before the 22-year-old man drops to the ground.

“Call the police,” a voice says as the younger man clutches his bleeding head.

The injured man and his alleged assailant were not known to each other, according to NSW Police.

The 22-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for head injuries at the scene before being taken to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition.

The 40-year-old man has since been charged with common assault and wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail and appeared before Mt Druitt Local Court on Thursday, where he was granted conditional bail to appear before Penrith Local Court on April 4.
