Dog euthanized after fatally mauling owner Christine Kulis

There’s been an update after a dog fatally mauled its owner at a home on the Eyre Peninsula.

A dog has been put down after fatally mauling its owner, who has since been identified as 39-year-old Christine Kulis.

Reports of an animal bite prompted emergency services to rush to a home about 400km from Adelaide in Whyalla Stuart on Thursday afternoon.

Ms Kulis was treated at the scene for serious injuries, however she died.

It’s understood the dog was euthanized shortly after the attack.

Neighbours claimed to 7NEWS that there had been several complaints made about dogs on the property, though it is unclear if any complaints were made about the euthanized dog prior to the attack.
