A cinematographer who has worked on a Hollywood blockbuster has admitted to distributing an intimate image without consent.

Timothy Keith Tregoning, 42, faced Sydney Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to intentionally distributing an intimate image without consent and threatening to distribute an intimate image without consent.

The filmmaker, who is known for his work on Hollywood hit Snow White and the Huntsman, sported a shock of bleached blond hair and an open shirt with a navy jacket in court.

He was expected to be sentenced for the offences on Wednesday, but his high-profile solicitor Bryan Wrench told the court the facts of the incident had not yet been settled.

According to charge sheets, Tregoning intentionally shared an intimate image without the subject’s consent at some point during the month of July 2023.

He also threatened to share an intimate image without the subject’s consent during the same period.

Both offences took place in Whale Beach, in Sydney’s northern beaches.

Further information about the offences, including who was pictured in the intimate images, is not yet known.

Mr Wrench asked for his client’s matter to be stood down until April to allow the parties to agree on the factual matrix.

“All parties want this to be resolved,” he said.

The police prosecutor agreed the parties were “confident” a resolution could be reached before April 2.

When the matter returns to court, Mr Wrench indicated he would be making an application for Tregoning’s charges to be dismissed on mental health grounds.

If the application is unsuccessful, Tregoning will be sentenced for the offences.

Judge Michael Allen adjourned the matter until April 2 and noted Tregoning would remain on bail.

The cinematographer smiled as he strode out of the courthouse.
