Cable Beach, WA: Man charged with Christmas Day murder

A man has been charged after the death of a woman who suffered serious head injuries on Christmas Day.

A man has been charged over the alleged murder of a woman on the evening of Christmas Day.

Police were called to a home on Roe Place, Cable Beach, a popular tourist town northeast of Broome, about 6pm on Monday and found a 34-year-old woman suffering serious head injuries.

While she was provided medical treatment at the scene, she died as a result of her injuries.

On Wednesday, WA Police said a 30-year-old man, known to the woman, had been charged with murder.

The man is scheduled to appear at Broome Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Cable Beach is located along the 22km stretch of white sand beach of the same name and is a popular tourist spot in the remote Kimberley Region.
