Comfy undies and iconic views have come together to deliver a colourful campaign celebrating the Territory’s diversity.

The campaign for Bonds’ latest Pride range – including chestys, undies, and bras – is set against the rich red of the Central Australian landscape with the help of Tourism NT.

Territory Drag Queen Miss Ellaneous is one of the front-and-centre personalities of the campaign and said it was beautiful to see the NT and its queer community showcased side-by-side.

Miss Ellaneous said she hoped the campaign showed the NT’s young queer kids “that you are okay just the way you are”.

“I’ve grown up in Darwin, and my parents were born there,” she said.

“I’m a huge advocate for the queer community – the LGBTQ+ community – and being a young queer boy from Darwin, I really felt alone and I really didn’t understand what it was and what I was feeling and what I was thinking.

“Anything that can show visibility around it (being) okay to be who you are, I think we need more of that.”

Miss Ellaneous said the campaign was a chance to show off “how fabulous” the NT can be.

“Sometimes people can just see a certain aspect – sport is really huge in the Northern Territory,” she said.

She said it was also great to see such a strong campaign launch during the 30th anniversary of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

It comes as the FabALICE Festival honours the glittering film in March.

“It is such an iconic international movie that has such resonance in the Northern Territory.”

Tourism NT executive director Tony Quarmby said there was no “Aussie road trip more iconic than through the Red Centre”.

“Tourism NT is proud to partner with beloved Australian brand Bonds in the lead up to Pride season to champion inclusivity, promote our epic outback road trips and showcase that the Northern Territory is truly different in every sense,” he said.
