A TASMANIAN grade 7 student who went to the same school as Australian Test Cricket Captain Tim Paine has won the exciting opportunity to interview the sport star.
Designed to support Australian students through this period of uncertainty, the Beacon Foundation’s 12 episode webinar series Be@Connected has featured a range of prominent and inspiring speakers, including Tim Paine, world swimming champion Ariarne Titmus and Mercury editor Jenna Cairney.
For the final episode, Bayview Secondary College Grade 7 student Nayton Martelli won the chance to interview Paine.
The pair will explore resilience and how young people can overcome challenge.
“I go to Bayview Secondary College, which is Tim Paine’s old school,” Nayton said.
“I’m looking forward to asking Tim what tips he has for people my age to achieve their goals, especially knowing he went to the same school I did.”
Paine said he had enjoyed his time as a Beacon Foundation ambassador of Be@Connected.
“I have been proud to join with a group of incredible speakers to provide practical tips that I hope will help students all over Australia,” he said.
All Be@Connected episodes can be viewed on Beacon Foundation’s YouTube channel, with the final episode going live this morning.
