All the stats, ranking points and top performers from St Joseph’s v South Barwon preliminary final

Another game, another even spread of contributors for South Barwon.

St Joseph’s had five of the best seven players on the ground in its preliminary final loss to the Swans according to Premier Data, with the top three all wearing red, yellow and black.

Dominant ruckman Olivier Northam posted more ranking points than any other player in yet another monster performance, thriving in the stoppage-heavy conditions with 42 hit-outs, 22 disposals, 13 contested possessions, eight clearances and 145 Premier Data ranking points.

The Geelong Falcons product had an intriguing duel with Swans ruckman Ben Kellett, who had a productive afternoon with 28 hit-outs, 17 disposals, 12 contested possessions, eight clearances and 120 points.

Joeys midfielders James Gow and James Hickey also got their hands dirty in and under, with Gow booting a goal and racking up 27 disposals, 16 contested possessions, eight inside 50s and 134 points, while Hickey had 25 disposals, 14 contested possessions and 125 points himself.

St Joseph’s defender Luke Webb (23 disposals, seven marks, seven rebound 50s, a goal and 13 points) was reliable as always while Swans midfielder Harry Cunningham continued his eye-catching finals series with 23 touches, a game-high 15 contested possessions, a goal and 123 points.

Zac Knights had an influence for the Joeys with 21 touches, three contested marks and 116 points, while Swans interceptors Rowan Gough and Jack Drive had 18 intercept possessions and 10 intercept marks between them.

In all the Joeys were +24 in disposals, +14 in clearances, +10 in marks but the Swans were able to make their disposals count, winning inside 50s 41-54.

The Swans brought the heat defensively, laying 18 more tackles and leading forward 50 tackles 15-8.
