January 26, 12pm: Police in Alice Springs are appealing for information in relation to a serious domestic violence incidentt where a woman was stabbed in the neck.
At 11.15pm Friday, police responded to a home in Gillen after reports a woman had been stabbed in the neck by a man known to her.
The woman suffered injuries to her neck and back and was taken to hospital by St John Ambulance, after paramedics treated her at the scene. She remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Police established a crime scene at the Bloomfield Street home and a 56-year-old man was arrested.
With investigations ongoing, police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to call police on 131 444 and quote reference P25024697.
Meanwhile, at 8.15am Friday, police were called to another domestic violence incident in the same suburb where a child was injured.
“An altercation had allegedly occurred between a 22-year-old female and her male partner, during which she allegedly threw a plate on the floor, with debris striking a nearby child,” an NT Police spokesperson said.
“The child was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment for a laceration.”
Police arrested the 22-year-old woman.

Woman struck with iron bar
January 24, 7.10am: A man has been arrested after allegedly attacking his partner and sister women with an iron bar in Alice Springs overnight.
About 3.30am on Friday, police attended a possible domestic violence incident in Larapinta.
Police allege a 35-year-old man had struck his partner in the head with an iron bar before striking his sister – who had tried to intervene – on the hand.
Both women were taken to hospital by St John Ambulance for treatment, with the first victim undergoing a head scan.
Police have since arrested the man, and as at the time of writing, he remains in custody.
Eight youths arrested following Red Centre carjacking
January 24, 6.45am: Eight youths have been arrested after the group carjacked a woman in Alice Spring.
About 7pm in Desert Springs, police received reports a group of youths allegedly broke into a home and stole a motor vehicle.
Police say the stolen car was driven south to Ilparpa, where the group pulled up behind a stationary vehicle, which had a woman inside.
It is alleged the offending group forcibly removed the woman from her vehicle and stole the car.
NT Police told this masthead both cars have since been recovered, with police having arrested eight youths aged between 14 and 17.
Woman allegedly bashed in front of NT cops
January 23, 6.30am: A 42-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly bashing a woman in front of a patrolling police vehicle.
At about 1.45am on Thursday, police were patrolling through the Alice Springs CBD when officers saw a man on the street side allegedly drag a woman to the ground and punch her multiple times.
Police immediately responded and arrested the man, who was later charged with aggravated assault and issued a domestic violence order.
It is understood the woman was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged with minor injuries.
Eight girls, woman nabbed after alleged Alice Springs 4WD steal
January 20, 2.40pm: A woman whose precious Prado was stolen by three teenage girls in Alice Springs has had her car recovered.
NT Police in a statement on Monday said they had arrested eight people – seven girls and one woman – after an alleged motor vehicle steal on Sunday.
Police allege three girls approached a 28-year-old woman and stole the keys to her Toyota Prado from a carpark on Gregory Terrace, Alice Springs.
Almost three hours later reports emerged the Prado had been seen driving in the Utopia region, where it was found by officers.
Seven girls, two aged 13, two 14-year-olds, a 15-year-old, two 17-year-olds and a 19-year-old woman were arrested.
“Strike Force Viper are assisting local members with the ongoing investigation,” an NT Police spokesman said.

Woman attacked with a rock in Alice Springs, perpetrator remains at large
January 20, 7am: The whereabouts of a woman who police say attacked another woman with a rock remains unknown, with police urging anyone with information to contact authorities.
About 7.30pm on Friday, police received reports of two women fighting at a residence in Braitling, Alice Springs.
When police arrived, officers found a 39-year-old woman who had been struck on the back of the head with a rock.
She was transported to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.
A 23-year-old woman fled the scene in a silver Ford Territory prior to police arrival, accompanied by a 19-year-old man.
A short time later, police sighted the vehicle and attempted to intercept it, but it failed to stop.
Members of Operation Ludlow and the drone unit located the vehicle driving south on the Stuart Highway, enabling officers to successfully employ a tyre deflation device in the fleeing vehicle’s path.
The 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with multiple traffic offences.
The 23-year-old woman was not located at the scene.
Investigations remain ongoing.

Racecourse fire thought to be deliberately lit
January 19, 9am: Alice Springs detectives and forensics officers are investigating an arson attack in the town on Saturday.
Police say about 10pm on Saturday they received a report of a truck alight at Alice Springs racetrack.
They say the fire was extinguished with the help of nearby residents, although the cabin space was extensively damaged.
The truck was used for transporting horses.
Police want anybody who believes they can help with details that could lead to an arrest to contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
Woman allegedly dragged from police station in DV attack
January 19, 9am: A woman seeking help in a police station was allegedly dragged out by her partner in a domestic violence attack that involved an officer being pushed.
At 11.50pm on Saturday, the 31-year-old woman went to the front counter of the Alice Springs Police Station seeking refuge from her partner.
Shortly after, the 32-year-old man entered the police station and allegedly pulled her outside, where he assaulted her multiple times before fleeing as police intervened.
Officers chased the alleged offender on foot to a nearby carpark and arrested him.
During the arrest, the man allegedly pushed one of the officers and attempted to pull them to the ground.
The officer drew his taser, at which point the man surrendered without further incident.
The taser was not deployed.
The man remains in police custody, and is expected to be charged.
The woman was treated at the scene for minor facial injuries.
Acting Commander Michael Budge said the man’s alleged actions were “despicable”.
“The assaults against the victim and the arresting officers are completely unacceptable, and we maintain a zero-tolerance approach to this type of violence,” he said.
“I want to commend the officers involved for their swift and efficient intervention, as well as their professionalism in handling this incident.
