Picton Rd in Cataract closed after truckie pulled from vehicle following serious crash

Emergency crews have rescued a driver from his vehicle after two trucks collided on a busy road, with motorists urged to avoid the area.

A driver has been pulled from his truck and another left with chest injuries after a serious crash south of Sydney.

Emergency crews were called to the incident on Picton Rd in Cataract about 4pm following a collision between two trucks.

A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said multiple crews arrived at the scene to find a man in his 30s trapped inside his truck with serious injuries.

Emergency crews have since been able to remove the man from his truck and paramedics remain at the scene.

NSW Police confirmed the second driver sustained chest injuries.

There is heavy traffic in the area as Picton Rd remains closed in both directions between Mount Keira Rd and the M1 Princes Motorway.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and allow for “plenty” of extra travel time.
